Our History

The Montana Coal Council was founded in 1981 to promote the use of coal in Montana and throughout the United States. Since then, we have been working to educate the public about the importance of coal in powering our nation's energy needs, and to advocate for policies that support the use of coal as a reliable and affordable source of energy.
